Late Friday night, a 25 year old man was arrested on the suspicion of driving under the influence after an accident was reported to California Highway Patrol about a car that had crashed off the I-805 in Clairemont Mesa. Police arrived on the scene of the accident to find a destroyed SUV with 4 out of 6 passengers ejected from the vehicle. The driver was identified as William Cady who arrested for DUI, he and only one of the passengers were wearing seatbelts.
William was driving a Cadillac Escalade around 11:oo p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle heading north on I-805 trying to take the transition ramp to SR-52. The SUV veered off the road then rolled multiple times before it came to a complete stop. Two other motorists were also affected by the accident but sustained minor injuries. Three of the SUV’s passengers were pronounced dead on impact and the others who were injured were sent to Sharp Memorial Hospital.
