Fontana Accident Involving Tanker Shuts Down Interstate 10

Around 12:00 p.m. Thursday, an accident on Interstate 10 in Fontana forced authorities to close off I-10 between Cherry and Citrus Avenues. According to San Bernardino County Fire Department, two people sustained injuries in the accident and were transported to Kaiser Hospital. The closure caused severe traffic for several hours until all lanes were reopened around 9:00 p.m.

The double tanker fuel truck which was carrying over 8,000 gallons of fuel, had rolled over and came to a final stop of the freeway. The other vehicle was identified as a small sedan. Police stated that the sedan veered from the left lanes where it hit the tanker.
