Fullerton Cyclist Hit By Convicted DUI Felon

Fullerton police arrest a man late Sunday night on the suspicion of driving under the influence after receiving a report about collision with a cyclist.  The man arrested was identified as 30-year-old Leigh Ziegler, while driving westbound on West Orangethorpe Avenue the side mirror of Ziegler’s truck clipped the cyclist in the bike lane.

Paramedics transported the cyclist to UC Irvine Medical Center where he was treated for fractures, lacerations and head trauma.  The cyclist sustained serious injuries but will make a fully recovery.

This isn’t Zieglers first run-in with the law, in 2009 he received a ticket for driving with an open container of alcohol.  The same year he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DUI in which he pleaded guilty.  If you are ever involved in a car accident it’s important that you contact police and a accident attorney in Fullerton as soon as possible.
